In 1995, immigrating to Canada was significantly easier than in 2000;
By 2000, the process had become more challenging but it was still easier compared to 2005;
In 2005, it was still easier than in 2010;
By 2010, immigrating was more straightforward than in 2015.
In 2015, the process was less restrictive compared to 2020.
Finally, in 2020, immigration was easier than it is today in 2024

Introduction of quotas for Start-Up Visas (SUV), limiting approvals to 10 projects annually for angel investors.
The election of Donald Trump in the United States.
The potential election of a less immigrant-friendly government in Canada in 2025, with the Conservative Party.
A rise in the popularity of extreme-right political parties across Europe.
